Hi Everybody,
Well trials are finally behind us and I would like to extend a massive thanks to the Committee who organise these events as well as all the competitors, judges and helpers.
There is a lot of work done behind the scenes, and please remember, we don’t do this for a living, we all have day jobs and spend a lot of effort getting stuff done in our own time.
So if you happen to bump into one of them at the beach, buy them a coffee or give them a wave or two…. All the posts on the committee are pretty thankless jobs.
So here is our team to represent WP at the 2019 SA Champs to be held at Seal Point next month!!!
Congratulations to those who have made the side, and while there may be some surprise seedings etc, it has definitely highlighted the importance of surfing all three trials and not relying on one or two results.
So with that being said:
- If you are selected for the side and ARE GOING, please let me know ASAP.
- If you are selected for the side and CANNOT GO, please let me know ASAP.
- If you are selected and have not yet paid you fees, please do so ASAP. No fee payments means no colours – sorry
We need to order kit, and make other arrangements to fill up possible gaps in the side. We need to field a full team if we are to defend out title won last year.
For the remainder of surfers who have not made the side, BUT, want to surf, please let me know soonest as I can send the names to the other provinces so we can include you in there, or, possibly in the barbarians side as we did last year.
I am awaiting final feedback regarding potential sponsors and as soon as this is finalised, we can get the clothing branded and ready for colours evening.
The date of this will be confirmed as soon as possible.

After SA Champs, we will be holding our annual AGM and there will be a few positions open where current committee members will not be available.
So if you have a skill to contribute, get involved and help out.
