Hi everyone and welcome to the 2019 contest year!!
WP Longboarding had a great 2018 where we hosted the SA Champs in Lamberts Bay which was an absolute blast, and WP won the overall trophy ????.
WP Champs were held at Long Beach and we have some new WP Champs in our midst, so well done indeed!
Now it’s time to defend our title as a club and get some more national titles under our belt!!!!!
So with that in mind, here we go…….
We will be holding a series of three trials to select the WP team for SA Champs:
- Trial 1: 02 and 03 February
- Trial 2: 02 and 03 March
- Trial 3: 16 and 17 March
Colours Evening: Venue and date TBC.
I have also received confirmation from EP that this year’s SA Champs will be held at Seal Point over the period 26 April to 01 May.
At this point the team compositions have not been distributed but I will let you know ASAP if there are any changes to the 2018 format.
As always, we will be looking for a team sponsor for WP Longboarding and if anyone has any contacts we could make use of, please let one of your Committee Members know.
WP Longboarding is your club which is funded mainly by membership fees and we have again not increased the annual fee from 2018 which is as follows:
- Main Member (adult) R500
- Secondary membership (spouse) R250
- Junior member (U18) R300
The cost of hosting events, trials and contests increases significantly each year and your bucks help run the club.
Membership fees are now due for the 2019 year and these include your entry into the three trials. (WP Champs is separate)
Our media fundi Darren will open entries for the trials shortly and please make sure that your fees are paid by the first trial. As in previous years, if there is a financial constraint, please let me know personally so we can make a plan. Any discussion will be treated in strictest confidence.
As further info becomes available to me from EP or SALSA regarding SA Champs, I will definitely let you folks know.
Chat soon and here’s looking forward to a super styling 2019
